Project Description
Working with the “Friends of Heublein Tower” and the State Department of Public Works we were charged with researching existing historical documents to restore the tower’s exterior to its original condition. The original cupola was destroyed in the hurricane of 1938 and documents were also destroyed. Through old photographs we were able to reconstruct the tower’s cap and provide new waterproofing to the original stucco over metal lath. Existing materials including roof tiles needed to be retained per the National Historic Buildings Guidelines.
