Project Description

Responsible for design development, construction documents, and construction observation for this $24 million project with a design centered in a campus setting with a restored fishing pier and seawalls overlooking New Haven Harbor. Project consists of a new 40,000 square foot 2-story building and the renovation of 20,000 square feet within four existing wooden structures. The project consists of expansion of existing marine sciences and aquaculture program in the City of New Haven from 130 to 375 students. Program spaces include fish production, genetics research, boat building, engine repair, plant biology, development of aquacultures working with salt and fresh water environments and a 2,000 square foot hydroponics green house. Students have access to Long Island Sound for developing navigational skills utilizing GIS and this location is one of the USS Amistad’s ports of call.
